Global Telehealth 2012

The Second International Conference on Global Telehealth (GT2012) took place from 26 to 28 November 2012 at the Four Points by Sheraton Hotel, Sydney. Over 170 delegates enjoyed three days of workshops, proffered papers, keynote presentations, trade exhibition and networking opportunities. Invited overseas speakers were Dr Stuart Ferguson, Chief Information Officer for the Alaska Native Tribal Health Organization in Anchorage, Alaska and President of the American Telemedicine Association, and Clive Smith, CEO of Disruptive Develelopments. The conference was opened by the NSW Minister for Health, Jillian Skinner MP. Read her full speech here .

Selected papers will appear in a special issue of Journal of Telemedicine and Telecare. Other long papers have been published as Vol 182 of Studies in Health Technology and Informatics and are available for free download.

Videorecordings were made of all plenary presentations and one parallel stream. ATHS is grateful to the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (ACRRM) for making these recordings, which were supported by the Australian Department of Health and Ageing. A complete set of recordings, including some workshops, is available from the ACRRM website.
