Archbishop Desmond Tutu to open GT2010 conference by video
In a specially recorded message, the South African Nobel Peace Prize winner Archbishop Desmond Tutu will address conference delegates at the opening session of the Global Telehealth Conference in Fremantle, Western Australia, in November 2010. Archbishop Tutu is an Ambassador for eHealth on behalf of the International Society for Telemedicine and eHealth. This underlines the global nature of telehealth today, and its potential for improving the lives of people around the world.
Cisco demonstrates "HealthPresence" at its Bangalore-based Globalisation Centre
At a plenary session of the American Telemedicine Association Conference held in San Antonio, Texas last month, the president of ATHS (Yogi Yogesan) and the President of ATA (Karen Rheuban) signed a Memorandum of Understanding between the two organisations. In the picture at left, Professor Yogesan and Dr Rheuban sign the document, watched by ATHS Vice President Anthony Maeder (left) and ATA Executive Director John Linkous (second from right). The agreement binds the two organisations to work together for their mutual benefit, including such things as publicising our respective conferences.
