Successes and Failures in Telehealth 2019

The University of Queensland’s Centre for Online Health (COH) hosted the 19th International Conference on Successes and Failures in Telehealth on the Gold Coast, in partnership with the Australasian Telehealth Society.  The three day conference attracted a record audience of over 220 delegates (from Australia and around the world) who all played a key role in sharing their telehealth experience through presentations and discussions throughout the conference.  Both clinical case reports, formal telehealth studies, and a panel presentation formed the main program, alongside three excellent keynotes, including Mark Saxon (Virtual Hospitals – Mercy Virtual, USA); Roberto Umpierre (teleconsulting to reduce hospital wait lists – Brazil); and Roland Balodis (Telehealth funding via Medicare – Department of Health, Australia). Telehealth workshops were also very popular – covering telehealth fundamentals, health economics evaluation, IT methods for behaviour health change, and artificial intelligence.
