The Most Reverend Desmond Tutu is Archbishop Emeritus of Cape Town, South Africa. From the mid-1970's he spoke out against apartheid in South Africa and in in 1984 was awarded the Nobel Prize for Peace. Following the end of apartheid he was appointed Chair of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission. He set up the Desmond Tutu Peace Centre in South Africa, and is a member of The Elders, a group of statesmen promoting world peace. He is Ambassador for eHealth on behalf of the ISfTeH, and will address the GT2010 conference via a pre-recorded message.
Elizabeth Krupinski is a former president of the American Telemedicine Association.
She is currently Professor
and Vice Chair at the University of Arizona in the Department of Radiology. She
received her BA from Cornell University, MA from Montclair State and PhD from
Temple University. Her main interests are medical image perception, assessment
of observer performance, medical decision making, and human factors.
Malcolm
Fisk is Founder and Chair of the Telecare Services Association (TSA) which has over 300 members providing telecare services to
over a million people in the United Kingdom and through its supply sector
members, many more service users worldwide.
Richard E Scott is an Associate Professor in the Global e-Health Research and Training Program of the Health Innovation and Information Technology Centre, University of Calgary. He has over 30 years of healthcare and research experience from Canada, the USA, and the UK; as a medical laboratory technologist, biochemist, clinical chemist, toxicologist, Director of Research (for a large hospital corporation), and as a telehealth / e-health researcher. His current research focus is on examining the role of e-health (telehealth + health informatics) in the globalisation of healthcare. Dr. Scott was President of the Canadian Society of Telehealth 2004-2006.
Shuji Shimizu is an Associate Professor in the Department of Endoscopics Diagnostics and Therapeutics at Kyushu University Hospital, Japan. He is chief of the medical team in a next generation internet project between Korea and Japan, and chairperson of the Medical Working Group of Asia Pacific Advanced Networks (APAN). He has taken part in a number of demonstrations of broad band surgical education telemedicine in a number of Asian countries.

Fiona Wood is Head of Royal Perth Hospital's Burns Unit, and Director of the Western Australia Burns Service.She is also co-founder of Clinical Cell Culture, a private company recognised for its research in the treatment of burns. She is world renowned for her invention of spray-on skin for burns victims, and led the team which treated victims of the Bali bombings in 2002. In her role as Director of the WA Burns Service, she is an enthusuastic proponent of telemedicine in the rapid assessment and treatment of burns victims throughout this huge area. In 2005 her work was recognised through her being named Australian of the Year.
